O ano passado foi considerado o segundo mais quente da história, segundo o serviço europeu Copernicus. Em informe divulgado nesta quarta-feira (8), a organização vinculada a União Europeia destacou que a última década bateu todos os recordes de temperatura desde quando se há registros.
O recorde segue com o ano de 2016, mas o segundo lugar está a apenas 0,04°C mais frio que o primeiro. O relatório da instituição destacou que as temperaturas do ano mais quente foram afetadas por um episódio especialmente intenso do fenômeno climático El Niño.

Segundo a agência espacial norte-americana (Nasa), em 2016 o El Niño causou um aumento da temperatura global em 0,2ºC. Os últimos cinco anos também foram os mais quentes e os termômetros variaram entre 1,1ºC e 1,2°C, em comparação com a era pré-industrial.
Década mais quente
O Copernicus apresentou também que o período entre os anos 2010 e 2019 já é considerado a década mais quente da história. Apenas no ano passado, as temperaturas ultrapassaram os 0,6°C acima da média para o período 1981-2010.
“O ano de 2019 foi, de novo, excepcionalmente quente, com muitos meses batendo recordes”, disse a agência France Presse Carlo Buentempo, porta-voz da agência europeia.
Para a Europa, foi o ano mais quente já registrado, logo à frente de 2014, 2015 e 2018. Copernicus confirmou que as concentrações de CO2 na atmosfera continuaram a aumentar no ano passado.
