A Sony deu mais um passo na direção de ter seu próprio carro. Depois de apresentar o Vision-S, um conceito de veículo elétrico na última edição da CES, em janeiro, a empresa de eletrônicos resolveu levar o protótipo para o Japão para aprimorar algumas tecnologias.

A empresa disse que pretende iniciar os testes de rodagem até o fim de março do ano que vem. No entanto, não há planos de produção. A Sony até divulgou um vídeo do carro chegando em Tóquio, mas as informações ainda são muito restritas.
Da Áustria para o Japão
Depois de ter sido mostrado na maior feira de tecnologia do mundo, em Las Vegas, o Vision-S foi levado de volta para a sede da Magna Steyr, empresa austríaca que monta veículos para diversas outras fabricantes, como o Jaguar I-Pace.
Agora, o Vision-S fez outra viagem, e foi levado para Tóquio, nos laboratórios da Sony. Lá, ele será preparado para iniciar os testes de rodagem.

O Vision-S é um sedã de 4 portas com visual elegante e jeito futurista. Ele tem porte semelhante ao do Porsche Taycan: são 4,90 metros de comprimento, 3,00 m de entre-eixos, 1,90 m de altura e 1,45 m de altura.
De acordo com a Sony, o modelo tem 2 motores elétricos de 272 cavalos, cada. Juntos, eles podem levar o sedã de 2.350 kg de 0 a 100 km/h em 4,8 segundos, com máxima de 240 km/h.

Considerando os quesitos tecnológicos, o Vision-S traz 33 sensores incorporados, incluindo sensores de imagem e de detecção e alcance de luz de estado sólido (Lidar). A Sony promete assistências semiautônomas do nível 2, que incluem assistente de mudança de faixa (inclusive em vias em obras) e controle de velocidade adaptativo.
O veículo ainda dispensa os retrovisores convencionais, usando câmeras e telas no lugar. A cabine traz uma grande tela que serve como quadro de instrumentos e central multimídia, inclusive com conexão 5G.
