A terceira maior economia da América Latina vem de uma queda do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) de quase 15% nos últimos três anos. O presidente da Argentina, Alberto Fernández, reiterou nesta quarta-feira (24) sua confiança de que o país sairá da recessão e terá condições de honrar a dívida externa, em diálogos por videoconferência com o presidente do Banco Mundial, David Malpass.
A conversa abordou a situação socioeconômica nacional e a carteira de investimentos que o organismo possui na Argentina para lançar as bases para o desenvolvimento sustentável de médio e longo prazo.

A terceira maior economia da América Latina vem de uma queda do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) de quase 15% nos últimos três anos, com alta inflação e pobreza com desemprego agravados pela pandemia do coronavírus.
PIB da Argentina encolheu 10% em 2020, segundo primeira estimativa oficial
O ministro da Economia, Martín Guzmán, disse recentemente que o país pode expandir até 7% em 2021.
O governo negocia com o Fundo Monetário Internacional (FMI) a substituição de um fracassado programa acertado em 2018, durante o governo do ex-presidente Mauricio Macri. Sob os termos desse acordo, a Argentina atualmente deve cerca de US$ 45 bilhões ao organismo e enfrenta uma série de vencimentos que não pode postergar.
“Estamos confiantes de que com um crescimento harmonioso e equitativo poderemos seguir em frente, dando atenção a quem mais precisa”, disse o presidente em comunicado oficial. “Há um processo de mudança na América Latina, e a Argentina quer poder dar sua contribuição na região.”
A Argentina tem uma carteira de 26 empréstimos com o Banco Mundial no valor de US$ 6,149 bilhões, dos quais US$ 2,066 bilhões ainda a serem liberados.
A entidade ratificou seu apoio à aprovação de novos projetos de investimento de mais de 2 bilhões de dólares neste ano nas áreas de infraestrutura, saúde, proteção social, emprego e mudanças climáticas.
Durante a conversa entre o presidente argentino e Malpass, foi analisada a situação internacional das vacinas contra a Covid-19, e Fernández destacou a necessidade de uma distribuição equitativa, “pois (a vacina) deve ser concebida como um bem global ao qual todos os países podem ter acesso”, concluiu.
