O contrato do petróleo Brent para abril fechou a sua oitava sessão consecutiva em alta, avançando 0,87%, a US$ 61,09 por barril, enquanto o do WTI para março subiu 0,67%, a US$ 58,36 por barril. Os contratos futuros do petróleo fecharam em alta nesta terça-feira (9), estendendo a sua sequência de ganhos em meio ao otimismo sobre a aprovação de mais estímulos fiscais nos Estados Unidos, que, por sua vez, alimenta as expectativas em relação à demanda pela commodity.
O contrato do petróleo Brent para abril fechou a sua oitava sessão consecutiva em alta, avançando 0,87%, a US$ 61,09 por barril, na ICE, em Londres, enquanto o do WTI para março subiu 0,67%, a US$ 58,36 por barril, na Bolsa de Mercadorias de Nova York, fechando a sua sétima sessão consecutiva de ganhos.

Os contratos do petróleo chegaram a operar em queda mais cedo, mas voltaram a subir durante a tarde, ainda recebendo suporte do otimismo sobre a aprovação de novos estímulos fiscais nos EUA.
“Os preços do petróleo simplesmente querem continuar subindo”, disse Edward Moya, da Oanda, à Dow Jones Newswires. “Tanto o WTI quanto o Brent parecem estar surfando nesta onda de reflação, mas parece que um novo catalisador será necessário para levar os preços do petróleo muito mais para cima.”
A perspectiva de mais estímulos foi reforçada desde a semana passada, quando os senadores do Partido Democrata usaram uma manobra conhecida como “reconciliação orçamentária” para tentar aprovar os estímulos fiscais sem o apoio dos republicanos, que defendem um pacote com menos da metade do valor proposto pelo presidente americano, Joe Biden.
Na noite de ontem, os deputados democratas aprovaram, na Câmara, a parte mais volumosa do pacote de estímulos de Biden, uma medida que estende os pagamentos de US$ 400 semanais em auxílio-desemprego até o dia 29 de agosto e autoriza os pagamentos mensais diretos de US$ 1.400 aos americanos mais pobres. Outras partes do plano precisam ser votados na Câmara dos Deputados para que todo o pacote seja aprovado ainda neste mês.
