O presidente-executivo da Apple, Tim Cook, recebeu mais de 5 milhões de ações da Apple nesta semana – o equivalente a cerca de US$ 750 milhões (ou R$ 3,9 bilhões).
De acordo com a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), equivalente à Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), o executivo recebeu os títulos e vendeu todos eles.
Pouco mais da metade (52,65%) foram retidos pela Apple para cumprir com requisitos de impostos – ou seja, Cook ficou com aproximadamente US$ 355 milhões (R$ 1,8 bilhão).

Os papéis foram recebidos como parte final de um pacote de recompensas garantidos para Cook quando ele se tornou CEO da empresa, em 2011, após a morte de Steve Jobs.
Havia uma meta para ter essas ações liberadas: os títulos da Apple precisariam dar um retorno que ultrapassasse dois terços das empresas no índice de mercado S&P 500 nos últimos três anos.
A companhia atingiu a marca com facilidade e, segundo dados da agência Bloomberg, o retorno total aos investidores das ações da empresa alcançaram 192%, colocando a Apple como a 13ª empresa mais rentável do índice.
Atualmente, a fabricante do iPhone é a empresa mais valiosa do mundo, com valor estimado de US$ 2,45 trilhões, seguida da Microsoft (US$ 2,2 trilhões) e Alphabet, controladora do Google (US$ 2,2 trilhões).
Segundo um ranking da revista Forbes, Tim Cook tem patrimônio avaliado em US$ 1,4 bilhão – o que o coloca na posição 2.199, distante de Jeff Bezos, ex-CEO da Amazon e homem mais rico do mundo com fortuna avaliada em US$ 192,4 bilhões.
Em 2015, Cook disse à revista Fortune que planejava doar toda a sua fortuna para projetos filantrópicos.
