O maracujá não precisa de muito espaço e produz praticamente o ano todo, características que agradam o casal Antônio Ribeiro dos Santos e Amélia Aparecida, que começaram a investir na cultura no ano passado.
O investimento inicial foi de 500 plantas e, até o final da safra, o casal espera colher mais de 10 toneladas. Antônio diz que, apesar das dificuldades no começo, o resultado surpreendeu e trouxe lucro.
A região centro-oeste concentra mais de 20% da produção de maracujá de todo o estado de São Paulo. Na região de Marília (SP) são 200 hectares plantados. Este ano, o clima ajudou e permitiu a colheita de frutas grandes, pesadas e com muita polpa.

Para o engenheiro agrônomo Gustavo Guerreiro, o maracujá que está sendo colhido este ano vai agradar, porque está oferecendo uma boa qualidade. Ele aponta que um dos grandes benefícios de cultivar a fruta é o rápido retorno do investimento. A rentabilidade por hectare plantado pode chegar a R$ 40 mil.
Quando a colheita termina, o produtor adota o vazio sanitário. Nenhum outro plantio é feito no local para deixar a terra se recuperar.
Paulo Sérgio Barbosa trabalha com a produção de maracujá há 30 anos. Ele vendeu o quilo da fruta por até R$ 5,20 nos meses de menor oferta e chegou ao fim da colheita custando R$ 2.
Ele lembra que, no início da pandemia, a queda do consumo e o aumento da oferta trouxeram preocupação, mas que, na média, os resultados foram bons.
