A Arábia Saudita, principal membro da Organização dos Países Exportadores de Petróleo (Opep), disse que ninguém deve duvidar do compromisso do grupo em fornecer suporte ao mercado, enquanto três fontes de países produtores afirmaram que um aumento de oferta projetado para janeiro pode ser revertido caso necessário.
A Opep , grupo que reúne os membros da Opep e aliados como a Rússia, atualmente reduz sua produção em 7,7 milhões de barris por dia (bpd), ante cortes de 9,7 milhões de bpd promovidos anteriormente. Em janeiro, as restrições deverão ser flexibilizadas em mais 2 milhões de bpd.
“Não houve grandes surpresas na reunião da Opep “, disse Phil Flynn, analista sênior do Price Futures Group em Chicago. “Eles falaram todas as coisas certas, mas não houve grandes surpresas, então o mercado permaneceu, de forma justa, praticamente estável.”
