Arábia Saudita planeja reduzir sua oferta de petróleo em mais 1 milhão de barris por dia (bpd) em fevereiro e março. O petróleo Brent atingiu uma máxima de 11 meses nesta terça-feira (12), pouco abaixo da marca de US$ 57 dólares, impulsionado pelos planos da Arábia Saudita de limitar a oferta da commodity, que ofuscaram temores de que o aumento no número de casos de coronavírus em todo o mundo afete a demanda por combustíveis.
O Brent fechou em alta de 0,92 dólar, ou 1,7%, a US$ 56,58 por barril, após tocar o maior nível desde o último mês de fevereiro, a US$ 56,75. Já o petróleo dos Estados Unidos (WTI) avançou 0,96 dólar, ou 1,8%, para US$ 53,28 o barril.

A Arábia Saudita planeja reduzir sua oferta de petróleo em mais 1 milhão de barris por dia (bpd) em fevereiro e março, com o objetivo de manter os estoques controlados.
O corte de oferta saudita faz parte de um acordo liderado pela Organização dos Países Exportadores de Petróleo (Opep), sob o qual a maior parte dos produtores vai manter a produção estável em fevereiro. No ano passado, cortes recordes promovidos pela Opep e aliados ajudaram o petróleo a se recuperar de mínimas históricas registradas em abril.
Além disso, a produção de petróleo dos EUA também deve recuar em 190 mil bpd em 2021, para 11,1 milhões de bpd, segundo relatório da Administração de Informação sobre Energia (AIE) publicado nesta terça-feira, indicando uma queda menor do que a esperada anteriormente, de 240 mil bpd.
“O armazenamento em Cushing está só 10,2 milhões de bpd abaixo da máxima recorde, então não há problema de oferta aqui nos EUA, mas o complexo está respondendo positivamente a esses rumores de falta de oferta”, disse Bob Yawger, diretor de futuros de energia do Mizuho.
