As importações de soja do Brasil pela China caíram significativamente nos dois primeiros meses de 2021 quando na comparação com mesmo período do ano anterior, com a chuva atrasando embarques do maior exportador global.
A China, maior compradora global da oleaginosa, importou 1,03 milhão de toneladas do Brasil em janeiro e fevereiro, recuo de quase 80% frente às 5,14 milhões de toneladas no ano anterior, segundo a Administração Geral de Alfândegas.
A chuva no Brasil reduziu o ritmo da colheita e das exportações, forçando alguns processadores de soja na China a considerarem suspender as operações.
Os embarques dos Estados Unidos para a China em janeiro e fevereiro totalizaram 11,9 milhões de toneladas, quase o dobro do volume do ano anterior, de 6,1 milhões.
A China ampliou as compras de produtos agrícolas norte-americanos, incluindo soja, após os dois países terem assinado um acordo comercial inicial em janeiro de 2020.
As importações chinesas de soja nos dois primeiros meses de 2021 caíram 0,8%, para 13,41 milhões de toneladas.
O apetite chinês pela oleaginosa deve seguir aumentando graças a boas margens de processamento de uma demanda saudável do setor de criação de suínos, que tem se recuperado.
Novos casos de peste suína africana nos últimos meses, no entanto, lançaram dúvidas sobre a produção de carne suína do país e geraram preocupações sobre a demanda por farelo de soja, a mais importante proteína utilizada para produzir ração animal.
