O Google anunciou na última quarta-feira (9) a criação de um fundo de investimentos dedicado a investir em negócios brasileiros geridos por empreendedores negros.
São R$ 5 milhões para apoiar 30 empreendimentos nos próximos 18 meses, em um programa batizado de “Black Founders Fund”. O objetivo é promover a diversidade no ecossistema de startups.
Os valores destinados a cada negócio irá depender das necessidades de cada empresa, estágio do produto oferecido e de possíveis investimentos passados.
O Google não pedirá participação na startup ou retorno financeiro.
As startups precisam ter uma solução com base em tecnologia e pelo menos alguns usuários.
O fundo é destinado para empresas fundadas por pelo menos uma pessoa negra que hoje ocupa um cargo de liderança.

As inscrições e os investimentos começam em setembro e poderão ser realizados durante os 18 meses de atividade do fundo.
Além de um aporte financeiro, as empresas receberão créditos em produtos do Google e terão a opção de mentoria com executivos.
Três startups já foram selecionadas:
Afropolitan: oferece um e-commerce que reúne produtos e marcas de empreendedores negros;
Creator: plataforma que conecta profissionais criativos autônomos a empresas que precisam de seus serviços;
TrazFavela: aplicativo de delivery com foco no comércio local e que atende as áreas periféricas de Salvador.
O estudo “O Empreendedorismo Negro no Brasil” realizado pela organização PretaHub, Plano CDE e JP Morgan aponta que empreendedores negros têm mais dificuldade de acessar capital ou crédito, com cerca de 30% dos entrevistados afirmando que tiveram crédito negado sem explicação.
