Comparação é com o ano de 2018. Dados são do Programa Queimadas do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (Inpe). O número de focos de queimadas na Amazônia foi 30% maior no ano de 2019 do que em 2018, segundo dados do Programa Queimadas do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (Inpe). No total, o bioma Amazônia registrou 89.176 focos de queimadas em 2019, ante 68.345 no ano anterior.
Também os outros biomas brasileiros tiveram aumento significativo nas queimadas no ano passado:
O Pantanal foi o bioma que teve alta mais expressiva, de 493%, com 10.025 focos;
No Pampa, o aumento foi de 91%, com 1.420 focos;
No Cerrado, houve 62% mais focos, totalizando 63.874;
Na Mata Atlântica, houve alta de 61%, com 18.177 focos;
Na Caatinga, o número de focos subiu de 32%, somando 14.960 focos.
Os dados são obtidos por meio do satélite Aqua.
