A Embaixada dos Estados Unidos alertou nesta terça-feira (21) que norte-americanos no Brasil devem se organizar para voltar aos EUA a não ser que estejam preparados para permanecer em solo brasileiro “por um período indefinido”, por causa da pandemia de novo coronavírus.
A nova orientação vem quase um mês depois de a Embaixada dos EUA pedir aos norte-americanos no Brasil que retornassem imediatamente ao país de origem, com o agravamento da crise de Covid-19 no mundo.

Em mensagem publicada no site oficial da representação, a Embaixada diz que há apenas nove voos em operação por semana entre o Brasil e os EUA — todos saindo do estado de São Paulo. Essas decolagens, segundo a nota, podem diminuir nos próximos dias (veja mais adiante quais são esses voos).
“O governo dos EUA não está estudando no momento voos de repatriamento do Brasil”, diz a nota.
Segundo a Embaixada, os nove voos comerciais por semana ainda em operação entre Brasil e EUA são:
Guarulhos (GRU) para Houston (IAH) — United Airlines — voos diários
Campinas (VCP) para Fort Lauderdale (FLL) — Azul — uma vez por semana
Campinas (VCP) para Orlando (MCO) — Azul — uma vez por semana
EUA se fecham para conter pandemia

Os Estados Unidos cancelaram as entrevistas para emissão de vistos em março, mês em que o país começou a se converter no novo epicentro da pandemia de Covid-19. Diversos estados norte-americanos aplicaram restrições totais na circulação de pessoas por causa do coronavírus.
Nesta segunda-feira, o presidente Donald Trump avisou que vai assinar decreto para interromper a imigração legal ao país pelos próximos três meses, no máximo. A medida congelará processos de obtenção de Green Card ou mesmo contratação de estrangeiros por empresas privadas.
Os EUA registram mais de 40 mil mortes por Covid-19. Só em Nova York, mais de 14 mil pessoas morreram com a doença.
