Em rara aparição, os golfinhos voltaram a ser fotografados às margens do rio Tejo, em Lisboa.
“Eu sempre amei golfinhos”, escreveu um internauta em suas mídias sociais, após compartilhar um vídeo dos animais. “É ótimo vê-los de perto e no nosso próprio rio Tejo!”
Embora os golfinhos sejam avistados no Tejo desde a época romana, a frequência das visitas não é mais a mesma, de acordo com um relatório da “Sea School e da Marine Science Association”, localizada em Lisboa.
Mas, nos últimos dois meses, a frequência dos registros nas mídias sociais com vídeos e imagens de golfinhos compartilhados aumentou.
“Com a melhoria da qualidade das águas estuarinas, o rio tem vindo a ganhar nova vida, e esta simpática família de golfinhos tem sido avistada várias vezes durante o último mês”, escreveu a Câmara Municipal de Lisboa no Facebook.
A pandemia interrompeu o fluxo de navios de cruzeiro e menos balsas atravessaram o rio, uma das causas apontadas para o retorno dos animais. O biólogo marinho Francisco Martinho, especialista em golfinhos, levantou outro motivo:
“Não é porque o rio se tornou mais pacífico que os golfinhos passam mais tempo lá”, afirmou Martinho. “É porque há mais peixe do que o habitual para eles comerem.”
Martinho disse que não está claro por que mais peixes foram encontrados nas águas do Tejo. Lembrou, ainda, que os golfinhos provavelmente partirão em alguns meses se o alimento acabar.
