O Conselho Monetário Nacional (CMN) definiu nesta quinta-feira (25) a meta de inflação para 2023 pelo IPCA.
O alvo será de 3,25% com margem de tolerância de 1,5 ponto percentual para mais ou para menos. As metas para 2021 e 2022 seguem em 3,75% e 3,50%, respectivamente.

Para 2020, o objetivo de inflação estabelecido pelo CMN é de 4,00%, com margem de 1,5 ponto percentual para mais ou para menos.

O Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) divulgou nesta quinta-feira (25) o Índice de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo-15 (IPCA-15), que subiu 0,02% em junho.
O número teve influência da queda dos preços de combustíveis e passagens aéreas ajudando a segurar a inflação e a compensar a alta dos alimentos. Trata-se da menor taxa para junho desde 2006, quando houve deflação de -0,15%.
A expectativa de inflação do mercado para este ano segue abaixo da meta central do governo para o IPCA, de 4%, e também do piso do sistema de metas, que é de 2,5% neste ano. Segundo o relatório Focus, divulgado nesta segunda-feira pelo Banco Central, os analistas do mercado financeiro estima uma inflação de 1,61% em 2020.

Se a previsão for confirmada, será o menor patamar da inflação desde o início da série histórica do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (BGE), em 1995. O menor nível já registrado foi em 1998 (1,65%).
Pela regra vigente, o IPCA pode oscilar de 2,5% a 5,5% sem que a meta seja formalmente descumprida. Quando a meta não é cumprida, o BC tem de escrever uma carta pública explicando as razões.
O BC revisou nesta quinta-feira a sua estimativa de inflação para 2020, de 2,6% para 2,4%. Em outro cenário, que considera taxa de juros (Selic) e câmbio estáveis, por sua vez, a previsão do Banco Central para a inflação oficial deste ano recuou de 3% para 1,9%.
“Não vamos abandonar a [meta de] inflação. O que dissemos é que acreditamos que a política monetária [definição dos juros para atingir a meta de inflação] ainda tem espaço. De forma alguma, abandonamos a [meta de] inflação e de forma alguma abandonamos [seu atingimento em] 2021 para atingir em 2022”, declarou nesta quinta-feira o presidente do BC, Roberto Campos Neto.
