O índice pan-europeu STOXX 600 recuou 0,2% após uma sequência de cinco dias de ganhos, tendo marcado a melhor semana do índice desde o início de junho.
Desencadeando uma alta nas ações globais, os investidores apostam que o democrata Joe Biden se tornará o próximo presidente dos EUA, mas que os republicanos irão manter o controle do Senado, potencialmente atrasando grandes mudanças de políticas públicas, incluindo uma regulação mais rígida sobre as grandes empresas norte-americanas.

As ações de Wall Street estavam, no entanto, voláteis nesta sexta-feira, à medida que Biden assumia a liderança sobre o presidente Donald Trump nos Estados-chave da Pensilvânia e da Geórgia, colocando-o mais próximo de alcançar a Casa Branca.
Alguns Estados continuam contabilizando votos e Trump alegou falsamente que a eleição está sendo “roubada” dele.
“Continua a haver dúvidas de que o eventual resultado pode acabar nos tribunais dos EUA”, escreveu Michael Hewson, analista-chefe de mercado da CMC Markets, em nota. “Por enquanto, os mercados financeiros não parecem muito preocupados, no entanto, ainda parece prudente tirar algum dinheiro da mesa ao entrarmos no fim de semana.”

Em PARIS, o índice CAC-40 perdeu 0,46%, a 4.960 pontos.
Em MILÃO, o índice Ftse/Mib teve desvalorização de 0,25%, a 19.681 pontos.
Em MADRI, o índice Ibex-35 registrou queda de 0,78%, a 6.870 pontos.
Em LISBOA, o índice PSI20 desvalorizou-se 1,57%, a 4.040 pontos.
