Reserva obrigatória caiu de 25% para 17% em março de 2020 como forma de minimizar os efeitos financeiros da pandemia da Covid-19. Previsão era de elevação para 20% em abril. O Banco Central anunciou nesta quarta-feira (10) a prorrogação, até novembro, da alíquota reduzida de 17% para o depósito compulsório (dinheiro dos bancos que não pode ser movimentado).
A alíquota era de 25% até março de 2020, mas foi reduzida como forma de combater os efeitos da pandemia da Covid-20. Esse percentual dos depósitos precisa ser mantido nos bancos, sem utilização, como forma de garantia a segurança das operações.
Pelas regras anteriores, a alíquota subiria para um patamar intermediário, de 20%, em abril deste ano. Ao prorrogar o percentual em vigor, o BC mantém R$ 40 bilhões liberados, afirmou a autoridade monetária.

Em março de 2020, a redução da alíquota permitiu a liberação de R$ 68 bilhões para os bancos. Esse recurso reforçou o caixa das instituições e permitiu elevar a quantidade de empréstimos ofertados.
“A atual decisão pela continuidade da vigência da alíquota temporária levou em conta a persistência conjuntural nas restrições de liquidez para a captação bancária que, neste momento, recomendam a manutenção dos atuais níveis de liquidez no Sistema Financeiro Nacional”, afirmou a instituição.
O governo tem renovado uma série de medidas para combater os efeitos da pandemia da Covid-19. O ministro da Economia, Paulo Guedes, já anunciou que vai retomar o programa de redução de salários e suspensão de contratos e disse que outras medidas serão adotadas.
O Senado, nesta quarta, aprovou o projeto que torna permanente o Programa Nacional de Apoio às Microempresas e Empresas de Pequeno Porte (Pronampe), outro mecanismo criado pelo governo durante a pandemia.
