Depois de passar sete dias em tratamento no Centro de Zoonoses de Cruzeiro do Sul, no interior do Acre, o macaco sagui branco voltou para a natureza, na última quinta-feira (12), em uma reserva de mata fechada do município.
O macaco foi resgatado pelo Pelotão Ambiental da Polícia Militar após ser atropelado, na BR-364, no dia 5 de agosto. O animal apresentava lesões quando foi encontrado e foi levado pela guarnição até o Centro de Zoonoses da cidade, onde recebeu atendimento.
Um semana depois, devido às lesões terem sido leves, ele estava recuperado e foi solto, segundo informou o sargento do Pelotão Ambiental, Weliton Sales.
“Ele foi entregue ao Centro de Zoonoses e depois de se recuperar voltou para o pelotão para ser devolvido à natureza. Tem uma área de reserva na ramal do Pólo e ele foi solto lá porque é uma área de mata fechada. Estava 100% recuperado e como ele nunca foi de cativeiro, a ressocialização dele é tranquila”, disse.
Logo depois do resgate, o coordenador do Centro de Zoonoses, Paulo Vasconcelos, informou ao G1, nesta sexta-feira (6), que o animal tinha tido ferimentos leves e o quadro era estável e ele estava se alimenta bem.
“Ele teve uma batida na cabeça e sangrou um pouco pela boca porque machucou o maxilar. Fui onde ele estava e coloquei banana, amassei e ele comeu. Agora voltou para a natureza”, disse.

Com o período de queimadas, se tornam frequentes os resgates de animais que acabam saindo das florestas para fugir do fogo, porém continuam correndo risco de serem mortos por atropelamento e até mesmo efeito das chamas.
“Com início dessas queimadas que são sazonais na nossa região, muitos animais sofrem tanto porque perdem seu habitat e são obrigados a vir para a parte urbana e a quantidade de capturas e resgate de animais aumenta, como também muitos chegam a morrer por causa dos incêndios florestais”, alertou o tenente do Corpo de Bombeiros, Felipe Santiago.
