A Alemanha pode introduzir testes obrigatórios de coronavírus para turistas e cidadãos que retornam de destinos de alto risco após o número de novas infecções no país atingir maior alta em dois meses, informou o ministro da Saúde no sábado (25).
O ministro da Saúde, Jens Spahn, disse à rádio Deutschlandfunk que o governo deseja fazer todo o possível para conter a propagação do vírus, além de respeitar os direitos básicos das pessoas.
“Também estamos verificando se é legalmente possível obrigar alguém a fazer um teste, porque isso seria uma violação da liberdade”, afirmou Spahn.
O ministro, que é membro sênior da coalizão conservadora da chanceler Angela Merkel, acrescentou que os tribunais estão examinando todas as medidas de coronavírus para garantir que sejam proporcionais considerando o impacto dos direitos básicos.
Na sexta-feira, Spahn e seus colegas regionais dos 16 Estados federais da Alemanha concordaram que as autoridades ofereceriam testes gratuitos aos turistas, de forma voluntária.
Chegadas de países designados como de alto risco – que atualmente incluem Estados Unidos, Brasil e Turquia – serão elegíveis para testes imediatos, enquanto chegadas de outros lugares poderão ser testadas em três dias.
Se um turista que chega em casa de um país de alto risco obtiver resultados negativos, não terá que observar uma quarentena de 14 dias.
Até agora, a Alemanha fez um trabalho melhor do que muitos países em conter o vírus, graças a testes iniciais e extensos.
No entanto, imagens de vídeo de comportamento indisciplinado de alguns turistas alemães na Espanha levantaram preocupações de que os turistas estejam em maior risco de infecção e possam levar o vírus para casa.
O número de novos casos confirmados aumentou acentuadamente na sexta-feira para 815, mostraram dados do Instituto Robert Koch (RKI) para doenças infecciosas, o maior número desde meados de maio. Continuou alto no sábado, com 781 novos casos.
