Receita global das companhias deve cair 51% neste ano. As empresas aéreas precisam reduzir seus custos unitários em cerca de 30% para atingir o ponto de equilíbrio financeiro neste ano, estimou a Associação Internacional de Transporte Aéreo (Iata), que reúne 290 empresas aéreas no mundo.
A receita global das empresas aéreas deve cair 51% neste ano em comparação a 2019, por causa dos efeitos da pandemia de covid-19. A receita menor exige das empresas mais esforços para cortar custos. No terceiro trimestre, os custos unitários das empresas aumentaram 40% em comparação com o mesmo intervalo do ano passado.
De acordo com a Iata, mesmo reduzindo pela metade os gastos com folha de pagamento isso não seria suficiente para as empresas apresentarem lucro.
“Não temos certeza hoje se as empresas vão conseguir fazer esses ajustes”, afirmou Brian Pearce, economista-chefe da Iata, em apresentação a jornalistas.
Ano de 2020 será o pior da história das companhias aéreas, diz associação
Pearce acrescentou que o cenário de recuperação para o setor aéreo mostra-se mais demorado do que o previsto inicialmente. “O turismo de negócios não deve voltar ao normal pelo menos nos próximos dois anos”, observou o economia. O turismo de negócios é o mais rentável e o principal gerador de receita para o setor aéreo. No Brasil, ele responde por cerca de 60% da receita do setor.
Para 2021, o executivo vê um cenário difícil para o setor, com aumento nos gastos com combustível de aviação causado pela alta nos preços futuros do petróleo. Neste ano, o preço do combustível de aviação caiu 42% em relação ao ano passado, mas a tendência futura é de alta, observou Pearce.
