As ações da montadora de carros elétricos Tesla subiram nesta quarta-feira (8) e o valor de mercado da companhia superou pela primeira vez o da General Motors e da Ford Motor, juntas.
Os papéis da Tesla subiam cerca de 5% às 17h10 (horário de Brasília), atingindo recorde e levando o valor de mercado da companhia para cerca de US$ 88 bilhões.
O montante é US$ 2 bilhões mais alto que o valor combinado de General Motors (US$ 49 bilhões) e Ford (US$ 37 bilhões).
Impulsionadas por um lucro inesperado no terceiro trimestre, progresso da primeira fábrica da empresa na China e entregas de veículos acima das previsões no quarto trimestre, as ações da Tesla quase dobraram de valor nos últimos três meses.
Sinalizando a confiança dos investidores no presidente-executivo da Tesla, Elon Musk, o valor de mercado da empresa superou o de rivais norte-americanas, que têm negócios muito maiores que os da empresa de veículos elétricos. GM e Ford, cada uma, venderam mais de 2 milhões de veículos nos EUA no ano passado, enquanto as entregas da Tesla foram de 367,5 mil unidades no mundo.
Perspectivas para a empresa
Apesar do progresso da empresa animar simpatizantes, muitos analistas e investidores seguem pessimistas com a capacidade da Tesla de entregar lucro e fluxo de caixa de maneira consistente.
A companhia por várias vezes descumpriu metas e o comportamento polêmico de Musk em redes sociais atraiu atenção de reguladores do mercado financeiro e de acionistas.
Mais analistas recomendam “venda” que “compra” de ações da Tesla, o que é bem incomum para companhias em Wall Street. Onze analistas recomendam compra de ações da Tesla, enquanto 13 avaliam o papel como venda. Outros nove são neutros, segundo dados da Refinitiv.
