Um tubarão-martelo, espécie ameaçada de extinção, foi fotografado em Fernando de Noronha, na região da Ilha do Meio, no domingo (13), em uma profundidade de 15 metros. “Foi mágico, eu gritei embaixo d’água de alegria”, contou ao g1, nesta segunda-feira (14), a fotógrafa Ana Paula Prim, que fez o registro durante um mergulho.

O animal foi visto por um grupo formado por seis mergulhadores. Ana Paula afirmou que o tubarão-martelo media cerca de três metros de comprimento e que teve dificuldade de enquadrar o tubarão na foto por conta do tamanho. Ela ficou emocionada com o registro.
“Quando eu percebi, o formato da cabeça de um tubarão-martelo é inconfundível, conclui que estava num momento único da minha vida. Ele veio calmo e nadou lindamente para o nosso grupo. Nós estávamos diante de um animal raro, ameaçado de extinção”, relatou a fotógrafa.

Ana Paula falou que a máscara de mergulho que usava encheu de água porque ela teve uma crise de riso, tamanha a emoção, sentimento compartilhado pelos outros mergulhadores que estavam no mar.
“Todos comemoram e dava para ver no olho de cada mergulhador, mesmo com a máscara, a felicidade daquele momento. Estou muito feliz. Foi a primeira vez que consegui registrar um tubarão-martelo e talvez seja a única”, disse Ana Paula.
O engenheiro de pesca Léo Veras, pesquisador de tubarões há mais de 30 anos em Fernando de Noronha, falou sobre a raridade do registro.
“Avistar um tubarão-martelo é mais raro que qualquer outra espécie em Noronha. É uma espécie difícil de encontrar nos oceanos, está ameaçada de extinção e se dispersa muito rápido. Esse animal não frequenta ou fica muito tempo em Fernando de Noronha, é só uma passagem”, explicou Veras.
O pesquisador também disse que o animal fotografado é macho e magro, o que indica que esse tubarão-martelo está há longos períodos no oceano e aportou na ilha para se alimentar.
Correnteza
Veras explicou, ainda, que uma mudança nas correntes marinhas pode influenciar a presença de espécies de tubarões pouco comuns em Noronha.
“Particularmente neste ano, nós observamos uma mudança no sistema da corrente equatorial sul. Essa corrente é difusa, mas, neste ano, está direcional da costa da África até Noronha, como se fosse uma autoestrada. É uma esteira rolante de cinco mil quilômetros. Não sabemos quanto tempo isso vai durar”, contou.
