Uma nova nuvem de gafanhotos foi detectada no Paraguai e está a cerca de 300 km da Argentina, informou o Serviço Nacional de Saúde e Qualidade Agroalimentar argentino (Senasa) nesta quinta-feira (16).
O Serviço Nacional de Sanidade Vegetal (Senave) do Paraguai disse aos argentinos que a nova nuvem foi encontrada na área de Teniente Pico, dentro do departamento (equivalente a estado) de Boquerón.
Nuvem de gafanhotos: como se forma e como combater
Os paraguaios afirmaram que os insetos estão se deslocando para o sul do Chaco – região que compreende Argentina, Bolívia e Paraguai. Seguindo essa direção, a tendência é que a nuvem de gafanhotos entre em território argentino.

Segundo o jornal paraguaio ABC Color, na terça-feira e nesta quinta-feira, técnicos do Senave realizaram a aplicação de inseticidas por aviões. O resultado será avaliado nos próximos dias.
E a nuvem da Argentina?
Já a nuvem de gafanhotos que estava mais próxima do Brasil segue sendo monitorada pelo país vizinho.
Após diversas aplicações de inseticidas e morte de parte da nuvem, os insetos estavam “escondidos” há quase uma semana.

Com dificuldade para encontrar os gafanhotos, técnicos argentinos conseguiram localizar parte da nuvem nesta quinta-feira em Curuzú Cuatiá, a cerca de 140 km do território brasileiro.
As baixas temperaturas no Sul do país e Argentina, além da passagem de um “ciclone bomba”, impediram um deslocamento maior da nuvem, deixando os gafanhotos “adormecidos”, pois preferem o calor para se reproduzir e locomover.
