Itamaraty Hosts Diplomatic Briefing on Brazilian Priorities for G20 Summit
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) hosted a strategic briefing session this week for the diplomatic corps stationed in Brasilia. The meeting, led by senior diplomats and G20 sherpas, aimed to detail Brazil's thematic priorities as the current president of the group, focusing on social inclusion, energy transition, and the reform of global governance institutions.
The initiative underscores Brazil's commitment to multilateralism and its role as a bridge-builder between developed and emerging economies.

During the assembly, officials presented the calendar for the final ministerial meetings and the preparations for the Leaders' Summit. Logistics, security protocols, and cultural programming were also shared with representatives from over 50 embassies and international organizations. Itamaraty emphasized that the 'Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty' remains the flagship initiative of the Brazilian mandate, seeking concrete commitments from member states.
International representatives praised the transparency of the process and the inclusion of civil society through the G20 Social. The dialogue at Itamaraty serves as a crucial step to ensure that the final declarations reflect a consensus that addresses global challenges. Further technical meetings are scheduled to take place in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro over the coming weeks to finalize the policy recommendations that will be presented to the heads of state.
