The Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (Embratur) has initiated a strategic dialogue with diplomatic representatives and international environmental organizations to enhance the visibility of the Brazilian Cerrado. The agency aims to diversify the national tourism portfolio, moving beyond traditional coastal destinations to showcase the ecological richness and modernistic grandeur of Brasília and its surrounding natural reserves. This effort is part of a broader government policy to align tourism growth with environmental preservation and local community development.

During recent meetings in the federal capital, Embratur leadership emphasized that the central region offers a unique combination of cultural tourism and adventure travel. By leveraging Brasília’s status as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the agency plans to capture the interest of high-value segments in the global market, particularly those originating from the European Union and the United States. The strategy includes participation in upcoming international travel fairs where the Cerrado's biodiversity will be the focal point of the Brazilian pavilion.

Furthermore, the agency is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and various multilateral organizations to ensure that the expansion of tourism infrastructure follows strict sustainability guidelines. This includes training for local guides and the implementation of carbon-neutral practices in regional hospitality. The goal is to establish the Brazilian heartland as a model for responsible tourism, ensuring that economic benefits are balanced with the protection of one of the world's most vital biomes.

As part of the internationalization plan, Embratur will also facilitate fam-trips for foreign journalists and travel influencers to experience the region firsthand. By showcasing the waterfalls of Chapada dos Veadeiros and the cosmopolitan life of Brasília, the agency expects a significant increase in international arrivals to the Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport over the next two years. These actions are seen as essential for consolidating Brazil's image as a diverse and nature-positive destination.
