O vice-presidente Hamilton Mourão disse ao blog “não ter dúvidas” de que a criação do Conselho da Amazônia ajudará a economia e na atração de investimentos para o Brasil.
Na avaliação de Mourão, a criação do conselho é o reconhecimento do presidente Jair Bolsonaro de que o meio ambiente é uma questão “transversal” e mostra a importância do tema ao ter o vice-presidente da República no comando do grupo.
“Não tenho dúvidas, ajuda na economia. O problema do meio ambiente é transversal – saúde, defesa, educação – e a conclusão do presidente, com a criação do conselho, reconhece a importância do tema. E designando o vice-presidente para coordenar os trabalhos. Caso contrário, colocaria um ‘Zé Bombinha’ qualquer”, disse Mourão.
Bolsonaro anunciou a criação do conselho e da Força Nacional Ambiental nesta terça-feira (21) após o governo brasileiro, e o próprio Bolsonaro, serem alvos de críticas, inclusive internacionais, pela atuação na área ambiental.
Questionado sobre qual o prazo para o início das ações do conselho, Mourão afirmou pretender ter iniciativas andando até março.
“Terei representantes dos ministérios, darei prazos para responder diretrizes. Pretendo ter iniciativas andando em março. Vamos analisar do ponto de vista orçamentário também, no caso da força nacional ambiental, é mais uma questão de passagens e diárias. Tudo isso vamos levantar para integrar os trabalhos”, completou.
De acordo com Bolsonaro, o conselho busca coordenar ações nos ministérios com foco na proteção, defesa e desenvolvimento sustentável da Amazônia.

Já a Força Nacional Ambiental, assim como em ações de segurança pública, deve atuar mediante pedido de governadores ou, em casos pontuais, em apoio à Polícia Federal ou a outros órgãos federais.
A tropa costuma ser utilizada em ações de policiamento ostensivo, de combate a crimes ambientais, bloqueios em rodovias, ações de defesa civil em caso de desastres e catástrofes e ações de polícia judiciária e perícias.
Nos últimos anos, por exemplo, a Força Nacional foi empregada para reforçar a segurança em estados, como o Rio Grande do Sul. A Força Nacional ainda foi empregada, em apoio aos militares das Forças Armadas, em operações de garantia da lei e da ordem (GLO).
