As maiores empresas do continente devem registrar nos meses de julho a setembro sua primeira queda no lucro trimestral em seis trimestres. A robusta recuperação econômica asiática dos impactos no ano passado devido ao coronavírus perdendo impulso, com o aumento nos casos de Covid-19 esvaziando lojas de novo e fechando fábricas, diminuindo as perspectivas de crescimento do lucro corporativo após um semestre de sucesso.
A rápida disseminação da variante Delta do novo coronavírus, altamente infecciosa, e as baixas taxas de vacinação pegaram grande parte da região desprevenida, especialmente em mercados emergentes, mesmo com a reabertura das economias na Europa e na América do Norte.
Variante Delta avança nos países da Ásia
“Está claro que as economias da região estão sofrendo mais com a Covid-19 do que antes. O maior fator é que a Ásia está pouco vacinada”, disse Rob Carnell, chefe de pesquisa para a Ásia-Pacífico do ING em Cingapura.
Embora os indicadores corporativos e econômicos na base anual continuem mostrando forte recuperação, favorecidos por comparações baixas decorrentes das quedas acentuadas de 2020, os indicadores trimestrais revelam um movimento decrescente.
As maiores empresas da Ásia devem registrar nos meses de julho a setembro sua primeira queda no lucro trimestral em seis trimestres, caindo 6,19%, mostrou um cálculo da Reuters com base em dados da Refinitiv Eikon de 1.069 empresas com capitalização de mercado de pelo menos 1 bilhão de dólares.
“Não há dúvida de que haverá uma desaceleração no terceiro trimestre”, disse Norihiro Fujito, estrategista-chefe de investimentos da Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, em Tóquio.
No curto prazo, muito depende do avanço da vacinação no sudeste asiático – importante base de produção – e se a China adotará medidas adicionais para sustentar sua economia, disse Fujito.
