Os cruzeiros voltaram em Veneza, na Itália, após mais de um ano sem viagens por restrições da pandemia de Covid-19.
Com o retorno das grandes embarcações, polêmicas sobre os impactos na preservação da cidade ganharam repercussão e manifestações chegaram a ser marcadas para este sábado (5), dia da saída do MSC Orchestra de Veneza.
O navio, que chegou vazio ao amanhecer desta quinta-feira (3), vindo do porto grego de El Pireo, deverá sair no sábado à tarde com 650 passageiros. A embarcação fará escalas em Bari, Corfú, Mykonos e Dubrovnik.

Os passageiros deverão apresentar um teste negativo para Covid-19, realizado, ao menos, 96 horas antes de embarcar. Eles serão submetidos a outro teste na chegada.
O cruzeiro está autorizado a embarcar com, no máximo, a metade de sua capacidade (3.000 pessoas).

Uma forte polêmica foi gerada entre as pessoas preocupadas com o impacto das grandes embarcações sobre o patrimônio da cidade e o meio ambiente, e os defensores dos cruzeiros.
A atividade representa uma importante contribuição para a economia de Veneza, que vive, principalmente, do turismo e que foi duramente afetada pela pandemia.
Duas manifestações, uma a favor e outra contra, foram programadas para este sábado.
