Autoridades locais bloquearam o acesso às áreas próximas aos rios e de encosta. Na capital, Seoul, choveu mais de 10 milímetros em apenas uma hora. Em Pyeongtaek, osouth of Seoul, a landslide swept over a temporary building in a semiconductor parts factory, killing three workers in their 30s and injuring one in his 50s. Two other workers managed to escape.
Ao menos 12 de pessoas morreram desde o fim de semana por conta de fortes chuvas e deslizamentos de terra na Coreia do Sul. Entre sábado (1º) e segunda-feira (3) foram registrados mais 13 desaparecimentos, segundo a agência de notícias Reuters.
Autoridades locais bloquearam o acesso às áreas próximas aos rios e de encosta. Na capital, Seoul, choveu mais de 10 milímetros em apenas uma hora. Em Pyeongtaek, ao sul, um deslizamento de terra soterrou parte de uma fábrica, matando três trabalhadores.
De acordo com a agência sul-coreana de notícias Yonhap News, três membros de uma mesma família, entre eles uma criança de dois anos, foram encontrados mortos nos escombros de uma acomodação turística no condado de Gyeonggi.

A agência central de desastres do país contabilizou mais seis mortes apenas nesta segunda. O presidente da Coreia do Sul, Moon Jae-in, cancelou seu recesso e voltou ao gabinete para responder à emergência causada pelas chuvas torrenciais.
A defesa civil sul-coreana estima que cerca de 556 casas foram danificadas e mais de 919 pessoas tiveram que ser removidas de suas casas por conta das enchentes. A maior parte dos servições ferroviários do país ficaram suspensas nesta segunda por conta da lama acumulada nos trilhos.
